INTERNATIONAL YOUTH GAMES 2019

The Mayor of Aalborg has invited all of our twin cities:
Almere, Antibes, Büdelsdorf, Edinburgh, Fredrikstad, Fuglefjord, Galway, Gdynia, Haifa, Hefei, Innsbruck, Karlskoga, Lancaster, Lerum, Liperi, Nordurthing, Nuuk, Orsa, Orust, Osno Lubuskie, Pushkin, Racine, Rapperswil, Rendalen, Rendsburg, Riga, Riihimäki, Solvang, Tulcea, Varna, Vilnius and Wismar.

Dear Friends!

On behalf of Aalborg City Council and SIFA it gives me a great pleasure to invite all of our twin cities to The International Youth Games 2019 in Aalborg from Tuesday July 30 – Sunday August 4, 2019 (arrival on July 30 and departure on August 4).

We are looking forward to seeing our friends in Aalborg for Youth Games for the 12th time.
As in 2015 Aalborg Freja (local football club in the western part of Aalborg) will be headquarter for The Youth Games.
This facility has central location in relation to all the sports, which mostly can be reached by foot.
Dinners as well as various social activities for all participants will be held at Aalborg Freja during the Youth Games.
We invite young athletes, born in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 including leaders and 2 principal leaders for the sports group to Aalborg.

Sports:
Provided that we receive a sufficient number of registrations (min. 20 pr. Sport) Aalborg will offer competitions within the following sports:
Artistics Gymnastics (WAG/MAG), Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Fencing, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Soccer, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis and Triathlon. To register your number of participants in the different sports please return the enclosed pre-registration form to Søren Larsen, SIFA by mail ul@sifa.dk - no later than December 3.

Accommodation for the participants: 
Will be at schools as close to the Youth Games Headquarter at Aalborg Freja as possible.
We will do our utmost to accommodate the participants within the same sport together.
The leaders of the teams will be accommodated with the young athletes while the Principal leaders will be accommodated at one of our hotels.

Participation fee as in connection with previous Youth Games the City of Aalborg will cover for the stay in Aalborg from July 30 – August 4, whereas travelling expenses to and from Aalborg, as well as extra days in Aalborg must be covered by each twin city.
If the group travels by bus, the driver’s accommodation costs are also paid by the twin city.

Program outlined:
Tuesday July 30: Arivel during the day
Wednesday July 31: Traning and competition; parade through the city; opening ceremony
Thursday August 1: Traning and competition; Particiants and Leaders party on Freja
Friday August 2: Traning and competition
Saturday August 3: Traning and competition;  Closing Ceremony
Sunday August 4: Departure
